Heldwell

After having a baby

3 min read

Pregnancy and birth stretch the pelvic floor. Gentle exercises can usually start soon after birth if there is no pain, but check with your midwife or doctor first, especially after stitches or a caesarean.

Begin with the relax sessions and very gentle lifts, and build slowly. Tiredness and broken sleep are normal; two quiet minutes still count.

Talk to a doctor or pelvic health physiotherapist if you feel heaviness, a bulge, pain, or leaks that do not improve over the first months. A check around six to twelve weeks after birth is a good idea.

Heldwell is a self-help tool, not medical care. If you have pain, bleeding, a bulge or heaviness, or trouble emptying your bladder, see a doctor or a pelvic health physiotherapist.
